EASL Business Meeting Invitation 2013
Dear colleague,
Our community is constantly growing and 2012 was definitely the year of numerical records for EASL with 9415 participants to the International Liver Congress™, 9756 downloads of the EASL iLiver app and 3700 active EASL members!
As you know, EASL not only organises successful conferences but also grants fellowships and bursaries, lobbies at the EU commission, produces Clinical Practice Guidelines, develops online education tools and many other initiatives. Each year, new projects are presented and discussed with EASL members during the EASL Business Meeting.
We are pleased to invite you to share your input and ideas with the EASL Governing Board at the 2013 Business Meeting that will be held during the International Liver Congress™ in the RAI Convention Centre Amsterdam on Saturday April 27th between 11:15 and 13:15, Hall 24. The Business Meeting does not compete with other scientific activity which enables every EASL member to be present.
Please find above a link to the minutes of the 2012 Barcelona Business Meeting. We thank you for reviewing them and sending your feedback to
easloffice@easloffice.eu before April 8th. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of EASL's
go green policy. We try to reduce the number of printed materials to minimise paper wastage and therefore will no longer print and distribute last year's
Business Meeting Minutes prior to the Business Meeting. The minutes should be reviewed prior to approval at the International Liver Congress™.
Also included are quick links to this year's Business Meeting agenda, the ILC 2013 Scientific Programme, a press release mentioning the publication of the
literature review to be released February 20th and information on the EASL Special Conference on Liver Cancer Management to take place in
Istanbul Turkey, June 20-22, 2013.
Many novelties will be presented to you during the ILC amongst which; the Liver Tree search engine, Sonography training for hepatologists, the Young Investigators lounge and sessions for young fellows as well as the launch of "The Burden of Liver disease in Europe, a review of available epidemiological data".
I thank you for your continued support to the EASL community and look forward to welcoming you in Amsterdam very soon.
With best regards,
Prof. Mark Thursz, MD FRCP
EASL Secretary General
